We are seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Planner to join our team on a full-time, site-based basis at Hinkley Point C. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the planning and successful delivery of one of Europe's largest nuclear new-build projects.
Our client is offering Inside IR35 12 Month Contracts + Extensions or Permanent Contracts for the Electrical Lead Planner position.
As the Lead Electrical Planner, you will lead the planning function for electrical installation works, ensuring robust project schedules are developed, maintained and optimised throughout the project lifecycle. Working closely with project delivery teams, you will provide expert planning support to ensure key milestones are achieved safely, efficiently and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development, management and maintenance of detailed project programmes using Primavera P6.
- Plan and coordinate electrical installation, testing and commissioning activities across multiple work packages.
- Work collaboratively with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Engineers and Project Controls teams to ensure programme integration and alignment.
- Monitor progress against the baseline programme, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions where required.
- Analyse critical path activities, schedule risks and programme constraints, developing mitigation and recovery plans.
- Produce regular progress reports, programme updates and planning dashboards for project stakeholders.
- Support change management processes by assessing programme impacts and maintaining schedule integrity.
- Ensure planning activities support contractual obligations, regulatory requirements and project delivery objectives.
- Provide leadership, mentoring and technical guidance to planners within the project team.
- Promote a proactive safety culture, ensuring planning activities support safe and efficient execution of works.
About You
We're looking for an experienced planner with a strong background in electrical engineering or construction who thrives in complex project environments.
You will ideally have:
- Extensive planning experience within electrical construction, engineering, power generation, nuclear, utilities or major infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience leading planning activities on large-scale electrical installation projects.
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6.
- Strong knowledge of project controls, scheduling methodologies, earned value management and critical path analysis.
- Experience preparing detailed planning reports, progress analysis and performance metrics.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- The ability to lead planning activities within multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable
- Previous experience working within the nuclear industry or other highly regulated environments.
- Knowledge of NEC contracts and project controls processes.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
- Membership of a recognised professional body such as APM, IET, CIOB or ICE.

Location
This is a full-time, onsite position based at Hinkley Point C, Somerset. Due to the collaborative nature of the project, regular site attendance is essential.
